Preserving the Voices of America’s Veterans!

The mission of The Lost Art Project: Veterans’ Voices is to record, preserve, and archive the personal stories of United States military veterans before those voices are lost to time.

For generations, veterans shared their experiences through conversation—around a kitchen table, at a local bar, or sitting around a fire with fellow service members. These stories carried lessons about leadership, sacrifice, humor, resilience, and the realities of military life.

Today, many of those stories are disappearing as the generations who lived them pass on.

The Lost Art Project exists to preserve those voices.

Recording History in the Veteran’s Own Words

Through long-form interviews, veterans from all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces share their experiences in their own words. These conversations capture the full depth of military life—service, combat, leadership, hardship, humor, and the transition back to civilian life.

Unlike traditional history that summarizes events through reports and documents, these recordings capture lived experience as it was remembered and spoken by those who were there.

Each interview becomes a primary historical source, preserving perspectives that may never appear in official records.

Building a Living Archive

Every story recorded becomes part of a growing archive of veteran oral histories.

These recordings document:

  • military service across generations

  • leadership lessons learned through experience

  • the culture and brotherhood of military units

  • the challenges of returning home after service

By capturing these stories now, The Lost Art Project is helping build a living archive of American military experience for families, researchers, educators, and future generations.

More Than a Podcast

While many people discover the project through the interviews and FireSide Chats, the mission goes far beyond entertainment.

The Lost Art Project is dedicated to ensuring that the voices of veterans are not forgotten, edited down, or lost to history.

These conversations preserve the human side of military service—stories that might otherwise remain untold.

Honoring Service Through Story

Every veteran carries a story worth preserving.

Some stories are about combat.
Some are about leadership.
Some are about brotherhood, humor, or life after the uniform.

Together, they form a powerful record of service to the nation.

The Lost Art Project exists to ensure those voices are heard, preserved, and passed on.

Join the Mission

Veterans from all branches and eras are welcome to share their stories.
